The Arrogance of Obama….or Secret meeting?

It is amazing how the MSM’s that are pro Obama have not highlighted this as a “Top Story”….

His Royal Majesty - The Chauffer by Bonney Kapp

Barack Obama’s motorcade raced across the tarmac at Amman’s airport, bringing the candidate, his staffers and his “protective press pool” to Obama’s chartered 757. A sleek gray Mercedes 600 led the way, confidently coming to a stop just feet from the steps leading up to Obama’s first class cabin.
The presumptive Democratic nominee is typically driven by the Secret Service, but his driver tonight was none other than King Abdullah. Obama rode shotgun and the duo were the car’s only passengers. [what was discussed during this "ride" away from prying eyes and ears?]

The two emerged and chatted amicably for a couple minutes on the tarmac as cameras rolled, shook hands, and then the candidate turned and waved before he strode up the stairs into his plane. King Abdullah stood and watched his pal until he was out of sight.

During the meeting with Senator Obama which was followed by a dinner hosted by Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania for Senator Obama and the accompanying delegation, the King also addressed the situation in Iraq. He emphasized Jordan’s support for Iraq’s security and stability and said there recently had been positive indications of opportunities to achieve comprehensive national reconciliation that would have a positive bearing on the reconstruction and development of Iraq.

King Abdullah and the US senators also discussed developments elsewhere in the region, including in Lebanon, as well as ways of strengthening Jordan-US ties. He expressed appreciation for US assistance to Jordan that has supported development in several sectors and that has helped advance the national economy.

King Abdullah met with the Republican presidential candidate, Senator John McCain, in March, during McCain’s tour of the region.

Jordan’s King Urges Palestinian Statehood During Meeting With Obama

by Associated Press Tuesday, July 22, 2008

AMMAN, Jordan — Jordan’s king has told Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama that an evenhanded U.S. policy would bolster America’s credibility in the Middle East.

King Abdullah II also told Obama that achieving Palestinian statehood is essential for ending the Arab-Israeli conflict.

A royal palace statement said Abdullah’s remarks came in a closed-door meeting with the Illinois senator Tuesday at Abdullah’s private Amman residence. [Were Rashid Kahlidi and Jim Zogby brought up in this closed door discussion?]

Obama vowed in a news conference earlier to work for a breakthrough in Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations — as he put it — “starting from the minute I’m sworn into office.”

Candidate Barack Obama visited the Yad Vashem overlooking Jerusalem today, after meeting with Defense Minister Barak and Benjamin Netanyahu. Obama got a brief tour of the Holocaust museum, which displayed some photos of Buchenwald concentration camp - the camp that Obama’s uncle helped liberate in World War II.

At the museum’s Hall of Remembrances, Obama, wearing a white yarmulke, laid a wreath at a the site where some of the ashes from concentration camps were buried, and “enhanced” the eternal flame burning next to the memorial site.

Following the ceremony, Obama gave a brief statement to cameras. “At a time of great peril and promise, war and strife we are blessed to have such a powerful reminder of mans potential for great evil but also our capacity to rise from tragedy and remake our world,” he said. “Let our children come here and know this history so they can add their voices to proclaim ‘never again.’ And may we remember those who perished, not only as victims but also as individuals who hoped and loved and dreamed like us and who have become symbols of the human spirit.”

According to the pool report, following the statement an Israeli journalist asked him a question about Iran, Obama did not answer the question and told the reporter it was “inappropriate” to have a news conference.  [What question was asked of Obama?]

Obama will visit Palestinian territory later this afternoon.

Some Israelis who support Obama hope he will take a stronger hand with Israel when it ignores its commitments to the U.S. to halt settlement building and dismantle settlement satellites known as outposts.

“In general, I think tough love is better than a free hand,” said Samson Altman-Schevitz, head of the Israel for Obama campaign. He moved to Israel two years ago from Chicago, where Obama’s wife, Michelle, was his adviser at the University of Chicago.

If I were Jewish, would I give pause in voting FOR Obama?  The Israrelis are trusting Obama to be a Man of His Word….what “word” is that?

Was Obama just being arrogant in riding with the King as his private Chauffeur or did he want to discuss things “privately” with the King of Jordan?  If so, what did Obama promise the King?
