America’s Democracy At Risk

Is It Time For Pitchforks And Torches? Is it time that Americans revolt against the “do nothing” government currently seated in Washington, D.C.?

I am beginning to believe so. Kind of like a “Boston Tea Party” 2008 style. Our government has become a stalemate. We as the United States of America are on a precipice of implosion.

Our economy is stagnant. Our Congress still trying to beat its chest; each party against the other, yet nothing is accomplished.

The Far Left wing against the Centrist Democrats; the Republicans against the opposing team.

Sen. John McCain doing the honorable thing by suspending his campaign to go to Washington, D.C. to try to break the stalemate over an economic stimulus package to try to get our economy going again. But, Sen. Obama is utilizing this as a political stunt to say he can do more than one thing at a time. The agent of “change” just definitely lost my vote.

It was “breaking news” last night that President Bush called Obama personally to request he meet with him, Sen. John McCain and the prominent Congressional leaders at the White House to try to work on the passage of a stimulus package to get the economy moving again. Obama is now stating that “If I can be helpful, I will be anywhere, anytime.” The President of the United States personally calls you to attend a White House meeting and this is your response, Senator?

Sen. Obama is still stressing the debate on Friday must go on. What? The debate on Friday, is supposed to be on foreign policy. Is Obama so afraid that if the debate were put off for a few days that he would lose the “prepping for the debate” the campaign so intently has been working on at a resort in Florida? The economy is basically in the “crapper”, yet Obama stays at a resort not concerned about what is happening in Washington, D.C. I find this amazing!

Sen. Joe Lieberman has now been threatened with censure by the Connecticut Democratic Party. Sen. Lieberman is an Independent party senator. He usually votes Democratic party lines. However, because he has taken the side of Sen. John McCain in this election cycle, the Democrats are now threatening him with censure? Whatever happening to bi-partisanship?

“If you have someone who says they’re a Democrat, who is registered as a Democrat and is a national figure supporting a candidate who is opposed to all the ideals and beliefs and positions that we hold as Democrats, he’s diluting, in my opinion, the meaning of our party,” said Audrey Blondin, a 30-year party veteran, before the meeting.

Blondin said Lieberman’s speech at the Republican National Convention, in which he praised McCain and criticized Democrat Barack Obama, convinced her that state Democrats need to take a stand.

“Our point is not that Joe should in some way be prohibited from supporting McCain or speaking at the National Republican Convention. That’s not the issue,” Blondin said. “The issue is, he’s a Democrat. And Joe, in our opinion, needs to reconsider membership in our party.”

Lieberman, speaking earlier Wednesday to a radio station, said that he was surprised by the move to censure him.

“Honestly, I thought that was the kind of thing that happened only in the former Soviet Union. I understand that people are unhappy, but, you know, I’m doing something that I really believe,” Lieberman told WICH-AM. “I thought in this country you don’t get punished for that. So, I hope that in the end, my colleagues will understand and life will go on either way.”

I do have to heap praise on former President Bill Clinton. He made a statement the other day that he won’t “dump on the McCain/Palin ticket.” Former President Bill Clinton’s statement: “I just don’t believe that getting up here and hyperventilating about Gov. Palin, or Sen. McCain for that matter, is a productive use of a former president’s time and is not a vote-getter,” he said, adding that he admires McCain even though he disagrees with several of his positions.

Now that folks is bi-partisanship! He admires Sen. McCain even though he disagrees with several of his positions; even Sen. McCain feels this way about Obama.

Yet, Sen. Obama wants Americans to think he is “the second coming of the Savior of America.” Scare tactics, radical views, questionable relationships with friends in his past, present and future quests. Flip flopping on his views to fit the “flavor of politics for the day.” I believe a woman has the “right to choose”; however I am against abortions after the first trimester. No way would I support a candidate that believes in abortions at the “whim” of the woman; especially late-term abortions and the ideals of the “born alive” botched abortions.

Gun control; censure of anti-Obama websites and MSM’s are two other issues of mine. You see, I don’t want to live in the Soviet Union or China or North Korea. I want to live in the United States of America. A democracy; not an autocracy. I thoroughly believe if Obama is elected, we will see a new America and it won’t be pretty. A National Civilian Security force as large as and funded as well as the American military. Is this the “new Marxist style” of government we can look forward to if Obama were elected President? Who knows. I do know one thing. I will side with the militia carrying the pitchforks and torches.

As the saying goes: “Give me liberty or give me death.”

One Response to “America’s Democracy At Risk”

  1. Senator Obama has a lawsuit by Philip J Berg to prove his natural born citizenship. Sen. Obama hasn’t bee able to respond. Why?
Andy Martin petitioned Hawai Supreme court to order Sen. Obama’s birth certificate on Oct 20th 2008.
He cannot prove his citizenship means that he has no qualification to become president of the US. If we let him go the way it is , we will lose the democracy in the US.
