Anne,

There are hundreds of places you can help! For links to sites working on this, see turndownobama.com or hillarysupporters.com and pick out something you'd like to do. hillarysupporters has a very long list.

About the movement fo get a fair convention and a fair vote for Hillary, see Heidi Li's blog Potpourri or Marc Rubin's "The Denver Group."

Thanks tdo You are absolutely right it would settle and solve the VP issue and give our country the candidate best suited to be the President and Commander-in-chief.
Being an educator for over 30 years it is so hard to believe we are in this position as Hillary is certainly the right choice and if the Democrats followed through with a fair and just primary she would be our nominee. Please let me know if I can be of any help
Thanks again

Anne,

Yes, it's very possible that HIllary can be the nominee for President at the August 25 convention. It will only take about 175 delegates switching (back?) to her. A great many people are working on this -- the PUMA movement and others.

See hillarysupporters.com, and turndownobama.com for links to the major groups.

That sure solves the problem of VP, doesn't it? :-)

Must go now, let's discuss more later.

Tdo,
Thanks so much for your comments I appreciated them.
My main reason for the suggestion about the Vice-President position for Hillary is that she had mentioned one time that she would take the job if offered it and President Clinton had mentioned it as being a strong ticket.
The last thing I would want to support and work for is to have her get the offer and she not wanting it. I only wish there was a sure way of knowing her feelings. Why? becuase if she wants it and feels it would help her in fighting for the causes she believes in I feel she deserves to have it after what the Obama campaign and the DNC did to her during the primaries. I know, like I am sure all her supporters are really not over the wounds of the unfair treatment she received and felt that if this is her desire we should do what we can to make it a reality.
Another thought , I have been reading there is talk about the vote at the convention. Is it possible that the nomination of Obama could be overturned? Is it possible the party would come to their senses and realize Obama is not the best choice who will be able to win in November? It will be impossible for me to vote for Obama who I have felt from the beginning is no way qualified to be our President and Commander-in-Chief. I do feel however that with Hillary on the ticket the Democrats may be able to win and whoever he picks other than her he will not win. However, your comments indicate it is not a good idea. I just want our actions to reflect what Hillary truly wants.
Thanks again

Anne, I had another thought on this. We know there is some pressure out there for Hillary to be the VP, so she might end up doing it even if she doesn't want it.

Putting some pressure on the other side, against her taking it -- may equalize the pressures, leaving her more free to choose what SHE really wants.

No, please, no Hillary VP.

Obama will take all the credit while Hillary gets attacked and she will be the fall woman and scapegoat for all his short-comings. No thanks!

It is hard to believe the Democrat Party made a decision to choose Obama by throwing Hillary under the bus. However, why not support Hillary as the Vice-President if this is what she wants. It is my belief that she deserves it after what she has taken from the party and if she feels this will help her in the future. Like the DNC ended up making the decision on their choice for a nominee without considereing us the 18,000,000 supporters of Hillary's should we not try and find out if this is something Hillary is seeking to be Vice-Presodemt and if so should we not be doing everyting to have it be a reality or are we putting all our efforts into getting the roll call vote at the convention.
Anne 7/14/08

Anne, I agree that the important thing is what Hillary really wants. I and many others believe that she does not want to be Obama's VP.

Hillary has stated (in the NY Mag cover interview and elsewhere) that she does not want to be VP and would only accept it if requested as a favor to the party (presumably to help Obama get elected). She has stated that she is happy as the Senator from NY. We think she has an excellent career there and VP (especially to Obama!) would be a step down for her. By the end of his terms in 2016 she would be 68 years old, perhaps too old to run for Pres herself. Why should she give up her own career and waste the best years of her active life to prop up the man who treated her so badly?

Also, if Obama loses she is free to run against McCain in 2012. Think of the emotional strain for her and Bill and Chelsea, her campaigning as second on a team that, if it succeeds, will be the end of her own hope for Pres.

Also think of how Bill would feel, living in the VP housing with her, watching her follow Obama's orders, working for his policies against her own....

There is more to be said and I will be happy to discuss this. But I must go now.

Thank you very much for commenting and starting this discussion.
