Default PUMA needs a platform

I think that it's necessary for PUMA to have a platform and set goals. So that come 2012, PUMA can come together, endorse a candidate, and effectively work for that candidate.

It seems to me that there a number of factions on this board.

PUMA PAC, for example, has created a committee for this exact purpose.

Any ideas?

I couldn't agree with you more. I know that most of us here, came to PUMA because of the way the Democratic party treated Hillary and then us. I also know that there are other groups that have joined, some are Republicans and that is all right to. I know that all of us are Americans looking for better representation.
I think one part of our platform should be real transparency, not this farce that we have been handed. I find it hard for anyone to believe that there has been any change that is good. Obama's cabinet is full of crooks and he doesn't talk to the media, he gives radio shows that tell the world what he is doing in his mind.
This is one thread that I will be following.

Thanks asrial! I think that you're right!

Anybody that has platforms ideas should post them here! Then, we all should be on the site at one time to vote on what stays and what goes.

Where's WIll Bowers and Puma Girl? THEY NEED TO BE INVOLVED MORESO THAN US MEMBERS! I haven't heard form them in months! I know that Puma Girl was having health trouble, so I hope she's o.k.

CURRENT PLATFORM IDEAS:
1) Create government transparency

For many the definition of a politican is a crook. They all play the Blago game of Pay-to-Play it's just Blago got catch.

Some of Obama's cabinet members were advisors/members of Bill Clinton's team. Not to mention Hillary is in the White House albeit as SOS. If Hillary were POTUS I'm sure some of these same individuals would be members of her cabinet. I've said this before, I'm sure their true allegiance is to Bill but that remains to be proven.

When Obama won the Primary (stole the Primary) he was asked to put replacing Caucus voting with
Primary Ballet on the Democrat Platform .............. he said... "NO"

He is the leader of the Democrat Party and now President.

There is no hope for Election Reform nor is there any hope for Election Finance Reform.
McCain was limited to $84 Million and Obama (electing not to take public funding) spent
over $700 Million. He bought up air time so McCain could not compete, nor address
issues made that were not true.
Obama was the first Presidential Candidate in the 30 years since the creation of public
finance. It is not tax payer's money...... it is volunteer money ask of us when we do
out IRS taxes..
It had to the goal to prevent a wealth elitist from buying the Presidency.
We saw how that works.
Obama needs to run in 2012.......no way in hell will he sign a Bill or any other
reform relating to either Election Reform or Election Finance Reform..........
OR NOT???? IF THE PRESSURE IS HIGH.......
AND WE RALLY AROUND IT.

So, that is my addition to a platform.
By the way, Obama did not and would not release his donation list.......
and is seems he will not need to do this. Both McCain and Clinton did.
Also...... ******** Obama will not have to have an audit on this......
and McCain will because he took Public Financing.
The estimated cost to McCain is $9 Million dollars.
From his PAC? Who knows or from the RNC?

Transparency ............... is just a word.......... I am sorry.
Bush/Cheney didn't have it and for sure Obama doesn't either.
He has come into this office loaded with secrets.

Obama's approval rating has already dropped 25% in just
3 weeks............ he does not have a clue on what to do and
in winging it.
Remember the same advisers he has surrounding him in
economics are the same folks 100% that have created all
this mess.
They are trying to save their collective butts??? or the Country????

I’ve made a request for a PUMA Convention to define our Platform, Mission, etc. Also, I’ve introduced the subject of PUMA to migrate to defeat Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and others but it has not caught on. Note, I’ve made this same request at the RESIST website and was totally ignored. It seems RESIST is completely focusing on the Stimulus Plan and nothing else – SAD. As the latest MSM has reported O has at least some Republican Senators onboard.

6) End the seniority system in congress .
With the seniority system the old porkers become impossible to get out of there . The longer they stay in Washington the more they spend , and the less their connection to the voters .
